Description

Module 1: The Project Manager's Review Module is intended to be a practical survey of significant influences on Atlantic RBCA (Risk Based Corrective Action) projects and potential applications, from both within the Tool Kit program, and other external causes.

Module 2: The Applications for Practitioners is intended to be a hands-on, applications oriented atmosphere for people who already have some familiarity with Atlantic RBCA (Risk Based Corrective Action) type applications.

The goal of both individual modules is to improve the understanding and application skills with respect to Atlantic RBCA technical applications. Opportunities will exist to develop effective practical approaches and solutions to the goals and challenges faced by attendees in their typical project environments. Detailed technical discussions are envisaged, along with some group work and computer based exercises.

You Will Receive

A set of course notes and compiled handouts by Cameron Consulting Incorporated.

Who Should Attend

Technical, consulting, corporate, management, and regulatory persons involved in the detailed preparation, execution, review, auditing or management of Atlantic RBCA type applications in their environmental projects.

RBCA Software Will Be Provided

Participants will be issued a trial version of Atlantic RBCA (Version 2.1) tool kit. Participants must bring the October 2003 Reference Document which can be downloaded from the Atlantic RBCA website. It is not required that participants bring lap-tops as the course will be held in a computer lab.

Instructor

Cameron Ells, P.Eng ., is a Project Engineer with Cameron Consulting Incorporated, of Halifax , Nova Scotia . He was a founding member of the Atlantic PIRI Committee until 2000 when Cameron Consulting was founded. He has made platform presentations on Atlantic RBCA related topics at international technical conferences in Canada , the United States and Europe . The firm provides technical and other support to engineering and environmental consultants across Canada and in the United States , as well as to legal and financial institutions. Projects primarily relate to petroleum and metals impacted properties or brown field sites involved in rapid responses, regulatory compliance activities, real estate transfers, civil actions, and changing financial arrangements. Cameron Consulting Incorporated has also provided technical and policy support to a variety of federal, provincial and other public sector clients.

Continuing Education Units

2.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded for participation in this seminar. One CEU is equivalent to 10 classroom hours or 10 professional development hours (PDHs). The CEU is an internationally accepted uniform unit of measurement in qualified courses of continuing education.

Cancellation Policy

If a withdrawal is made up to 10 days prior to the start of the course, the full fee will be refunded. If a refund is requested after that date, a 20% administration cost will be deducted. You may substitute another to attend at no additional charge. If the course is cancelled for any reason, we will contact the registrants and provide a full refund. Dalhousie’s liability is limited to the return of the registration fee.
