Description

This module covers the following components of electrical systems within a residential structure: wiring systems, service panels, grounding systems, devices and fixtures.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • Inspect the following to identify the type, material, condition and safety concerns of: wiring systems, interior components of service panels and subpanels, devices, equipment and fixtures(switches, lights and receptacles), grounding systems, service drops and laterals
  • Define and use proper terminology related to electrical systems
  • Identify the common problems with each electrical component named as well as the causes and implications of each issue
  • Document and report on each inspection procedure related with each component

Cancellation Policy

If a withdrawal is made up to 10 business days prior to the start of the course and learning materials have not been ordered, the full fee will be refunded. Alternatively, monies may be left in a deferred revenue account and applied to the same course in the next term. The university’s liability is limited to the return of the registration fee. If the course is cancelled for any reason, we will contact the registrants and provide a full refund providing learning materials are returned in like new condition to the College of Continuing Education.

Participants withdrawing from a certificate program course should immediately notify the Program Director, in person or in writing, indicating the reason for the withdrawal. There is No refund for withdrawal after the start of the course.
